Join us in Fellowship Hall on March 2nd to celebrate Fastelavn. In Denmark there is a special children’s party tied to the Sunday before Lent known as Fastelavn Sunday. Of course, everyone eats the special Lenten buns, but the children also try to break open a wooden barrel filled with chocolates and sweets. The children are encouraged to dress in costumes, so nobody knows who is hitting the wooden barrel with a wooden stick. If they don’t have a costume, there will be some available in the library for them to use.

Mike and Else, local Scandinavian singers, will lead in the singing of the Fastelavn songs in LOTI’s own Fastelavn party.
