September 23, 2018 | 11:00 am - 11:45 am
Place : LOTI Christy Room

Working is the theme of an ongoing speaker series in which peopl e talk about what they do all day and how they feel about what they do. Many people within our congregation are engaged in fascinating work, and this series gives us an opportunity to learn more about what the y do. The next session will focus on a program that helps women get back to work after living in traumati c environments. The speaker is Jennifer J. Polzin, CEO of Tubman, a nonprofit organization serving people of all ages and backgrounds wh o have experienced relationship violence, exploitation, homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges. She will share informatio n about how trauma can impact finding or maintaining meaningful employment, resources for employees, how employers can provide a safe environment where people can do their best work, and answe r questions about working in the nonprofit sector. Jennifer’s talk will take place after a brief coffee break following th e Sunday morning service. Those who are interested will be invited t o take their coffee/tea into the Christy Room for about 45 minutes. Th e first 15-20 minutes will be an informal talk by Jennifer, leaving th e remaining time for questions from those in attendance. If you are interested in sharing your Working story, please contact Janna Haug.
