Working Speaker Series

November 18, 2018 | 11:00 am - 11:45 am
Place : Christy Room

Working is the theme of an ongoing speaker series in which people talk about what they do all day and how they feel about what they do. Many people within our congregation are engaged in fascinating work, and this series gives us an opportunity to learn more about what they do.

Want to learn something about 3D printing technology? Then come to the next Working session to hear from new LOTI member, Ben Guengerich. (He might even bring a 3D printer with him!) Ben is the Anderson Student Innovation Labs Manager at the U of M. Trained as a mechanical engineer, Ben has spent his career working for university “makerspaces”. The U of M’s Anderson Student Innovation Labs give students a place to learn technical skills outside of the classroom and the means to work on their projects, whether they’re gifts for friends or potentially life changing technology innovations.

Ben’s talk will take place after a brief coffee break following the Sunday morning service. Those who are interested will be invited to take their coffee/tea into the Christy Room for about 45 minutes. The first 15-20 minutes will be an informal talk by Ben, leaving the time remaining for questions from those in attendance.
