Assistance to Arriving Families from Afghanistan
Approximately 250 Families from Afghanistan will be arriving in Minnesota this spring. There are several organizations working to help get them re-settled, including Alight and the International Institute of Minnesota. There are a number of ways you can assist in helping them set up homes for the arriving families.

Alight is working to stock up on household items, including everything from dishes to towels to a couch and mattresses. “They are working to make cozy beds where Afghans can finally rest, to stock the pantry with familiar foods, and to add the small things that make a house a home.” You can make a monetary donation, purchase or donate items for a home, volunteer your time setting up a home, and more.
