Summer Splash – August Dates

We have two more Sundays of Summer Splash coming up on August 14 & 21.  No need to register – just come!  Activities are geared for kids age 3 – Grade 3.  We will gather together during worship after the Children’s Message to sing songs, play games and do arts and crafts related to the day’s Bible story and then return to worship during Communion. The Bible stories we are exploring this summer are ones that involve water. It’s a splashing good time!

It’s time to register for Sunday School!

Registration is now open for the 2022-23 Program Year which begins on
Rally Sunday, September 11.
Sunday School is offered for children who are age 3 (by Sept 1) through 6th grade.
We ask that all families register their children and you can find the online registration form here.
If you have questions, please contact our Children’s Ministry Director, Diane LaMere.

A full moon set in the dawn sky behind the steeple of Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church on Thursday in Minneapolis.
The clear dawn gave no hint of the foot of snow that should come early next week.

Approximately 250 Families from Afghanistan will be arriving in Minnesota this spring. There are several organizations working to help get them re-settled, including Alight and the International Institute of Minnesota. There are a number of ways you can assist in helping them set up homes for the arriving families.

Alight is working to stock up on household items, including everything from dishes to towels to a couch and mattresses. “They are working to make cozy beds where Afghans can finally rest, to stock the pantry with familiar foods, and to add the small things that make a house a home.” You can make a monetary donation, purchase or donate items for a home, volunteer your time setting up a home, and more. For information on how to get started, go visit Alight
For information on how to offer assistance contact Janna Haug
or visit International Institute of Minnesota

Children’s Ministry December 2021

Winter Gear Drive Thank you for your amazing response to the winter coat/gear drive! 164 donations went to Project for Pride in Living just before Thanksgiving. We also donated $550, which were proceeds from the St Martinsfest Dinner. Thank you for helping take care of others in our community in need of help!

College Care Packages Twelve care packages will be heading to our college age young adults in the next week – just in time for finals preparation. Thank you to the Sunday School children for helping pack them and thank you to the families who donated the snacks. The college students love receiving this gift of love from LOTI.

This year the children will present the nativity scene during the Lessons & Carols service on Sunday, December 19. Details will be sent via email to Sunday School families for this very special day.
