Asi Spelmanslag to play at LOTI on Father’s Day – June 15th

June 15, 2014 | 9:30 am

Although midsummer sounds like July or August in the U.S., it is celebrated in June in Scandinavia.  It is the time when the days are long and the colors of the sea and forest are vibrant.  Traditional fiddlers in costume from the American Swedish Institute Spelmanslag will plan at LOTI for our 9:30 worship service on Father’s Day, June 15th.  (In Sweden this celebration begins on the Friday afternoon closest to June 23rd).  They will perform traditional fiddle tunes and accompany the congregation in singing favorite Swedish hymns, including “Children of the Heavenly Father” and “How Great Thou Art.”
