Lake of the Isles has many ways to participate in church life. Whether you have special skills in technology, or an interest in reaching out to help the community, there is a Ministry Team for you. If you would like to audit a team or join outright, we are always glad to have you with us.
The members of these teams are members of the congregation who volunteer their time to participate. Each team has at least one member who is also a member of the church council. The council members who participate on the various teams act as liaisons between the teams and the church council.
Worship & Music
The Worship and Music Ministry Team provides opportunity for members, friends and visitors to encounter God in worship which is faithful to the Lutheran tradition, but relevant to the realities of modern life – through musical diversity, contemporary language and appropriate liturgical settings.
Social Outreach
The Social Outreach Ministry Team provides the members and friends of LOTI with opportunities to demonstrate their faith through tangible action in the community and around the world. The team’s primary responsibilities include allocating the financial gifts which are given to various causes in connection with the commitment to tithe. In addition, the team organizes and executes special charitable projects, such as the annual Paint-a-thon and monthly shelter meals.
Children’s Ministry
The Children’s Ministry Team provides direction for the education of youth and children of the congregation through formal and informal classes. Programs include Sunday School, seasonal programs, Vacation Bible School and other opportunities.
