Hello Arden and Janna,
I’m so sorry to share with you the news that our sweet mother, Christina Harrison, passed away last Thursday morning here in my home surrounded by love. Her health had been in rapid decline for a few months. We will miss her so. I know she was very fond of you both.
My sister and I are in a bit of a quandary in terms of thinking of the best way to commemorate her- how, when, where. Perhaps you can help us?
She was a member of Mount Olive for many years but didn’t really attend in the past 5 years, after her accident. We don’t know anyone there. Mom’s sister in Malmo, would very much like us to have a Lutheran element to our memorial service. We have some musician friends who might play some traditional Swedish songs. I’m going to look into the Lakewood Memorial chapel, but if they don’t have any openings or if it’s too expensive, we will look elsewhere. Is your charming church available to rent for non-members? Likewise, Arden, might you be able to lead us in a few simple readings/prayers in Swedish and English? Having been to a few of your lovely feasts there, and knowing how much Mom enjoyed your friendship, we feel Mom would be happy to think we asked you first.
And or course if this is not something you can do, perhaps you can point us in the direction of some other options?
